The committees, like the board officers, are dependent on
available time and resources to get done what needs
to get done.

These positions are outlined in the
WiPM Board Volunteer Positions Roles & Responsibilities.

Volunteers must be a PMI WiPM SIG member(s) in good standing. Also should have experience and skills relative to the functions being performed, and or prior organizational volunteer experience. Must be willing and able to contribute their time as indicated in their detailed position description unless unforeseen circumstances make that not feasible. All officers and team members are expected to transition their responsibilities to their elected and/or recruited successors.

The WiPM SIG is totally founded on volunteerism. We all have careers, families, other personal commitments that make our time valuable, yet many of us still find the time to participate in
WiPM SIG activity. Not only is volunteering a good short-term strategy for our membership, but it also helps ensure the long-term success of our SIG.

The September 2002 issue of PMI Significant News features some personal volunteer experiences and perspectives from several PMI leaders:

"...I always get back much more than I give..."
"...I feel a sense of goodness..."
"...sharing the good and bad helps me on the next project..."
"...I love the people I get to interact with..."

That's what it's all about!

As an added bonus, volunteer activities can qualify for PMI PDUs towards maintaining PMP Certification. If you're interested and available, let us hear from you by filling out the volunteer form.
